Are you a reliable and proactive School Caretaker looking for a new opportunity in a Secondary School setting? Tradewind is working with a school in High Wycombe seeking an experienced School Caretaker to join their site team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic and a hands-on approach to facility maintenance and school safety.

The school, based in High Wycombe, offers a supportive environment and values the important role that the site team plays in maintaining a safe and welcoming space for students and staff. The successful candidate will hold the skills to ensure the school buildings and grounds are well-maintained, secure, and fully operational each day.

Role Overview:

  • Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and minor DIY tasks across the school site
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
  • Monitor and manage site cleanliness, waste disposal, and contractor access
  • Support the opening and closing of school premises, including setting alarms
  • Assist with setup for school events and basic grounds-keeping when required
  • Conduct regular site inspections and report any issues in line with school policy

Role Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a School Caretaker, Site Assistant, or similar role with transferable skill
  • Strong practical skills and understanding of maintenance procedures
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours, including early mornings or evenings
  • Awareness of health and safety and safeguarding in school environments
  • A positive attitude and pride in maintaining a safe learning environment
