Job Description

Reed Accountancy are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Credit Controller to join a growing and fast-paced team. This role is office-based and ideal for someone who is looking to make a real impact in a small but ambitious company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess credit risk and approve new customer accounts.
  • Discuss pro forma terms with customers who don’t meet credit criteria.
  • Ensure large accounts are credit insured per company policy.
  • Follow all company credit control procedures.
  • Monitor and manage customer credit limits.
  • Place late payers on hold until payment is received.
  • Release and manage orders by daily deadlines.
  • Set up and collect direct debits; process card payments daily.
  • Make daily calls to chase bounced payments and overdue debt.
  • Negotiate payment plans and resolve disputes.
  • Send reminder letters for overdue accounts.
  • Escalate persistent non-payers for legal action.
  • Meet weekly KPIs for bad debt and overdue accounts.
  • Raise credit notes with proper documentation and justification.
  • Support other credit control tasks, including: answering calls and emails, bank reconciliations and cheque banking sending monthly statements and covering team members during holidays

  • Interviews will be scenario-based to assess competencies and real-world problem-solving.
