HR Advisor

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join Newcastle City Council team in a specialist, non-caseholding role. This position focuses exclusively on completing high-quality CUBAS (Capacity to Understand and Be Aware of Safeguarding) and ParentAssess assessments, supporting practice quality and contributing to safeguarding decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
– Undertake CUBAS and ParentAssess assessments to a high standard
– Prepare detailed, analytical reports to inform care planning and court proceedings
– Support social workers in understanding and applying assessment frameworks
– Contribute to safeguarding decisions through expert analysis and recommendations
– Provide evidence in court as required
– Promote consistent, high-quality practice across the team

Key Requirements:
– Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
– Trained in CUBAS and/or ParentAssess assessments
– Proven experience in completing CUBAS and ParentAssess assessments
– Strong understanding of safeguarding and care proceedings
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to work independently and support others in assessment practice
