HGV Technician – Day Shift

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum

About the Role We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work with a well-established company, ensuring our fleet of heavy goods vehicles remains in top condition.
Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and other commercial vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics and fault-finding using the latest equipment.
• Complete MOT preparations and inspections, ensuring compliance with DVSA regulations.
• Work on braking systems, engines, transmissions, and other vehicle components.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, maintaining safety and efficiency.
• Keep accurate records of servicing and repairs using maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure minimum vehicle downtime.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in HGV Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician, Mechanic, or Fitter.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostic tools and software.
• A full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential).
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• A keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.
