Food Technology Teacher – Peterborough – Immediate Start

Aspire People are currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in the Peterborough area with an immediate start.

This is a specialist Food Technology teaching position and is not a general cover role. We are therefore looking for a teacher with genuine experience of teaching Food Technology, Food Preparation and Nutrition or a closely related subject within a secondary school setting.

The school is looking for someone who can confidently take responsibility for their classes, deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons and provide pupils with consistency from the outset.

The role will involve:

-Teaching Food Technology / Food Preparation and Nutrition across the secondary age range
-Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory lessons
-Ensuring high standards of health, safety and hygiene within practical lessons
-Managing classroom behaviour effectively
-Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
-Working collaboratively with the department and wider school team
-Creating an inclusive learning environment where pupils can develop practical skills, independence and confidence

We are looking for:

-A Food Technology specialist with relevant secondary teaching experience
-QTS, QTLS or an appropriate teaching qualification
-Strong subject knowledge within Food Technology / Food Preparation and Nutrition
-Experience delivering practical food lessons
-Good knowledge of classroom health, safety and hygiene requirements
-Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
-A genuine passion for your subject and for supporting young people
-An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
-References covering the required safeguarding period

The position is ideally full-time, although the school is happy to consider strong Food Technology specialists looking for part-time work.
