Industrial Sales Manager (Energy/Utilities)

  • Annual Salary: £85,000 – £95,000 + Bonus/Commision

Reed are working with a leading independent B2B energy supplier who are looking for an Industrial Sales Manager. This pivotal leadership role is crucial for shaping and growing a new business sales team, driving sales margin, revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion. This role is ideal for a motivated energy industry professional ready to expand their leadership skills in a dynamic, growth-focused environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage and mentor a team of Industrial Business Development Managers, setting clear goals and KPIs to drive accountability, visibility, and outstanding sales performance.
  • Align team efforts with broader channel objectives through effective strategic planning, ensuring each team member has a defined path to success.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape and execute growth strategies, identifying new market opportunities and working cross-functionally with Commercial, Solution, and Trading teams to enhance customer value propositions.
  • Oversee day-to-day channel operations, implementing tools, dashboards, and systems to monitor KPIs and ensure performance is transparent and measurable.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Serve as a key escalation point, ensuring high standards of client interaction and accountability across the team.
  • Track and analyse team performance, delivering insights to senior leadership and using data to refine strategies and drive sustained growth.
  • Promote a culture of ownership and results, ensuring every team member understands expectations and performance outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices and efficient processes, ensuring seamless collaboration with other departments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Confident and professional communicator, adept at engaging effectively with both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Demonstrated success in leading high-performing sales teams focused on new business acquisition.
  • Exceptional sales record, with proven experience onboarding new energy clients through a supplier or third-party intermediary (TPI).
  • Thrives in fast-paced, innovation-led environments.
  • Strong understanding of the UK energy market, particularly within the Industrial & Commercial (I&C) sector, is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in building and nurturing long-term client relationships.
  • Experienced in supporting sales strategies, with deep knowledge of pricing models and deal structuring.
  • Analytical mindset, with a track record of using data and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and comfortable using CRM platforms or sales tools, with a readiness to adopt new technologies as needed.
