Payroll Manager- Hartlepool- Permanent

Salary: up to £35,000 (Depending on experience)

Job Summary

Portfolio Payroll are currently working with an established successful business in the Hartlepool area who are currently recruiting for a Payroll Manager to join their team. They provide an excellent working environment, work from home opportunity and a flexible working environment.

Key Duties/Tasks:

  • Technical skills including Payroll System experience & excel skills
  • You will get an opportunity to work on the client payroll
  • Driving deadlines and check payroll of the more junior team members
  • Support the busy payroll department high volume starters and leavers
  • Experience dealing with multiple payrolls of varying shift patterns
  • Must have very strong Excel (VLookUps/Pivot Tables)
  • High volume, fast paced
  • Using Brightpay payroll system
  • Collaborating with other departments such as accounts and bookkeeping
  • Provide comprehensive advice to employees in relation to payroll queries
  • Ensuring all necessary payments are made within the deadlines set, for example Reconciliations.
  • Opportunity to get involved with significant payroll projects such as implementations in future
  • Making key decisions in the payroll department

Desirable skills and attributes:

  • 3+ years payroll experience ideally
  • Previous payroll experience in a fast paced and high-volume payroll environment
  • Bureau/client payroll experience ideally
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Enjoy working within a team
  • Motivated to progress to management
  • Supervisory experience advantageous
  • Excellent communicator as you will be answering queries with clients
  • Confident with Excel
  • Brightpay payroll system experience essential
  • CIPP advantageous not essential

Normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week, 9:00am to 5.30pm with 1-hour unpaid break.
