My client is a rapidly expanding company, experiencing significant growth and undergoing an exciting period of financial transformation. They are seeking an exceptional Financial Controller to not only oversee our core financial operations but also lead critical modernisation projects that will scale our capabilities for the future.

The Opportunity: This is more than a traditional Financial Controller role. A significant part of your remit will involve leading and implementing key modernisation initiatives. You will be instrumental in enhancing our financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities to support our rapid growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Leadership: Full ownership of the financial control function, including accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes, statutory reporting, and compliance.
  • System & Process Modernisation: Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new ERP systems, financial planning tools, and automation solutions to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Strategic Project Management: Drive finance-led projects aimed at improving data integrity, enhancing reporting capabilities, and building scalable financial infrastructure.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee and enhance the budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making across the business.
  • Controls & Compliance: Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal controls to ensure financial integrity and adherence to regulatory requirements in a growing environment.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with operational, commercial, and senior leadership teams, translating financial data into actionable business insights.

About You:

  • Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Proven Project Leadership: Demonstrable experience in leading and successfully implementing finance system upgrades or transformation projects (e.g., ERP implementation, automation initiatives).
  • Fast-Growth Acumen: Experience working within a fast-paced, high-growth business environment, comfortable with ambiguity and evolving priorities.
  • Systems Savvy: Advanced proficiency with modern ERP systems and financial software. Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team. Outstanding communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
