Interim Finance Project Consultant
Location: Reading with hybrid working
Duration: 3 months – Part-time or full-time
Reporting to: CFO
Start date: ASAP
We are looking for a capable and proactive finance professional to support the CFO with a number of important finance and governance-related projects during a busy period.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Audit Review Support:
Help coordinate a review of the organisation’s current external audit firm, supporting a tender process and gathering insights for recommendation. - Investment Review:
Assist in assessing the performance and suitability of the organisation’s current investment manager (responsible for c.£5 million of assets), gathering data, and comparing alternatives. - Pension Provision Review:
Support a review of pension arrangements, processes, and governance. Help identify any areas where improvements or updates may be needed. - Operations System & Finance Interface:
Work with stakeholders to understand how a newly implemented operations system may be affecting financial controls and reporting processes.
Candidate Profile
- Finance background – qualified accountant from an SME or charity background
- Comfortable working independently with direction from the CFO
- Good organisational and analytical skills
- Experience in finance, audit, or investment processes is desirable
- Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear summaries and reports
