Junior Merchandiser Responsibilities:
- Take ownership for certain product areas, whilst supporting the Senior Merchandiser and helping to shape the future of the business through effective merchandising strategies
- Partner with the wider merchandising team to prepare and deliver strategy packs, ensuring accurate product attribution across the range
- Collaborate with the buying team to help shape seasonal strategies by collating and analysing data, and providing insightful KPI reports
- Review data to identify trends, must haves, and best sellers to highlight to the buying team
- Identify core lines to correctly balance stock, maximise availability and reduce terminal stock
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic and trading decisions across merchandising and buying teams
- Manage new products, ensuring they are arranged in line with buying plans and timelines whilst monitoring option plans
- Monitor sales performance against the WSSI, identifying underperforming areas and taking action to drive sales and maximise profit
- Share performance insights and KPIs with the buying team, flagging any risks that may arise
- Review distribution to stock, working with the wider merchandising and warehouse team to move stock between stores and online
- Oversee delivery commitments, cost changes, and ensure all product lines are on track and aligned with department goals
Junior Merchandiser Skills and Experience:
- Experience within a similar merchandising role, ideally gained within retail or e-commerce
- Gained exposure in end-to-end seasonal planning and strategy
- Strong analytical skills, confident collating and understanding data to draw insights and inform strategy
- A strong eye for detail alongside excellent administration skills
- Collaborative and proactive, with a passion for driving commercial success and maximising margins
