Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a smaller real estate business based in Hull, who are looking to appoint a proactive and experienced Accounts Assistant. This role is offering condensed working hours (30 hours per week) and a supportive working environment.

Role: Accounts Assistant

Location: Hull

Salary: Up to £30,000 (pro rata, depending on experience)

Hours: 30 hours per week – condensed working available

Working Policy: fully onsite

The Role

As Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in the day to day finance operations. This is a hands on position ideal for someone who enjoys working autonomously in a small business environment.

Duties will include:

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices
  • Reconciling bank statements
  • Managing payments and petty cash
  • Supporting VAT returns and month-end reporting
  • Handling supplier and customer account queries
  • Maintaining accurate financial records using accounting software

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
  • Comfortable using accounting software (Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and a professional manner
